What payment methods are supported?

• Credit Cards: Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express

• Agent Credit Card Tokens: Visa Intelligent Commerce and Mastercard Agent Pay (coming Fall 2025)

• Stablecoins: USDC, USDT, with additional options available on request

• Closed-loop tokens: Merchant-specific credits (e.g., “Starbucks dollars”)

What can agents pay for?

• Any credit card-enabled guest checkout accessible via browser

• Amazon (US), all Shopify merchants, and global flight bookings

• Additional merchants added monthly through direct, reliable integrations

What other tools does Crossmint offer to agents?

All Crossmint APIs are agent-compatible. Key tools for agentic use cases include:

• Crypto Wallets: Enable agents to securely hold and transact with funds. These remain non-custodial and don’t require you to hold licenses.

• Verifiable Credentials: Issue and verify cryptographic credentials to authenticate agents on behalf of users.

Who acts as merchant of record?

You (the agent developer) never act as merchant of record. Depending on the purchase route and user preferences, either the end merchant or Crossmint serves as the merchant of record. From the user’s perspective, this distinction is transparent.

How do returns and refunds work?

In most cases, customers can work directly with the end merchant. Crossmint will soon provide APIs to initiate returns and support requests directly through your agent.

Is this solution legally compliant?

Crossmint’s solution complies with PCI standards and all commercial regulations in our operating regions. As an agent developer, you don’t need to manage PCI compliance, sales tax collection, or similar requirements - Crossmint handles these on your behalf.

Is this production ready?

Yes. Crossmint Checkout processes tens of millions of dollars in annual transaction volume. The only pending features are credit card agent tokens from Visa and Mastercard, which have not yet been publicly released.
